The Simplicity of Basic CBD

BE
BASIC

At Basic CBD we aim to change the way people think about not only CBD but their overall wellness.

With a focus on pure, natural ingredients and simplistic blends we strive to deliver the best results possible each and every time. Basic CBD produces Cannabidiol (CBD) rich products extracted from American-grown hemp on USDA Organic Certified land.

Basic CBD Oil Tinctures are composed of only 2 ingredients depending on the unique formulation, either Full Spectrum Hemp CBD Extract or 99% Pure CBD Isolate Powder, combined with a high-fat coconut MCT (Medium-Chain Triglycerides) carrier oil.

The Plants & The Land

It all starts with the plants and the land. Our products begin with Hemp defined as Cannabis sativa L. plants which contain 0.3% THC that is federally compliant under the United States Farm Bill. We only utilize a single proprietary strain of cannabis genetics and our single-source fields allow us to maximize quality control over every element of the production process. The hemp, a varietal of the cannabis sativa plant species that is extracted for Basic CBD, is sun-grown in Colorado on USDA Certified Organic land utilizing organic cultivation and natural farming practices. Our farm partner is registered and regulated by the Colorado Department of Agriculture and all Basic CBD products are manufactured in a state-of-the-art facility that is registered with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

The land on which Hemp grows is crucial because the plant is a phytoremediator. Phytoremediation is a natural way for nature to process and eliminate toxins, chemicals and heavy metals out of the soil and groundwater. This also means in the process of growing, hemp can absorb a wide variety of compounds from the soil. It is critical that our hemp is grown without pesticides or chemical fertilizers making it chemical-free and pesticide-free. With our domestic USA grown hemp and USDA Certified Organic soil you can trust that the plants grown for Basic CBD are of the utmost quality. Our plant profiles and genetics are highly bioactive packed with phytocannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids and antioxidants. Each ingredient is sustainable and all of our products and processes are free of contaminants like pesticides, herbicides, mycotoxins and heavy metals.

Supercritical Cannabinoid Extraction

Basic CBD utilizes supercritical CO2 extraction to create our hemp extract. After harvest and curing our Hemp is extracted by Carbon Dioxide in what is deemed by the industry as the safest and purest extraction method. Specialized extraction equipment freezes CO2 gases and compresses pressurized CO2 into a supercritical cold liquid state that works to separate the CBD and other phytochemicals from the plant matter. In a supercritical state, CO2 adopts properties of both a gas and liquid simultaneously which allows it to work as a solvent at certain temperatures and pressure while possessing none of the dangers of traditional solvent extraction.

CO2 is a common food additive and is used in everything from carbonated drinks to extending shelf life. It has been utilized by years in the food industry as an extraction method for things like essential oils and olive oils. When CBD is extracted via supercritical CO2 extraction the cannabinoid rich oil that is produced is potent and free of chlorophyll with no contaminants. Supercritical extraction is an expensive process but it is something we believe is essential to a high quality finished good.

It is crucial to understand the various extraction methods that exist for CBD as they can have a major impact on the quality of the end product, and your overall health. CO2 extraction helps to prevent heat degradation and solvent pollution of the final hemp extract. We do not utilize harsh solvents or chemicals and our final product is third-party lab tested to verify the contents at a molecular level.

Simple, Effective Ingredients

Basic CBD Tinctures contain only 2 ingredients, CBD and MCT Oil, with no added fillers. Our products are Non-GMO, Gluten-Free and Vegan. Cannabinoids including CBD are fat soluble making them most effective when consumed with a high-fat carrier oil.

MCT For Maximum Bioavailability

MCT Oil (Medium-Chain Triglycerides) is a saturated fatty acid derived from coconut oil. The lengths of medium-chain triglycerides are related to the number of carbon molecules that are attached. Medium-Chain (MCT) contain 6 to 8 carbon molecules which are digested at a more rapid pace than longer chains and also work as a source of fuel for the body. MCT (coconut) oil contains saturated fat which helps the body absorb our cannabinoids.

There are many ways to ingest CBD including the traditional formats that may come to mind like CBD pill, capsule or edible however none of those are the most effective. This is due to the first pass effect (first-pass metabolism) which is a phenomenon where the concentration of a drug or supplement, specifically administered orally, is reduced greatly before reaching systemic circulation in the bloodstream. The digestive process and compounds are broken down in the stomach and absorbed in the small intestine before making it to the liver where the highest rate of absorption is lost.

Additional benefits of MCT Oil include being keto-friendly as MCT is broken down into ketones which can aid the body in entering the fat-burning state of “ketosis.” MCT has shown to prevent the growth of bacteria helping to aid and protect the quality and shelf-life of CBD products. Basic CBD does not contain additives, flavorings, sweeteners or preservatives. It is the most pure and luxurious CBD you can find today.

Sublingual Administration for Efficacy

When a CBD tincture is administered sublingually, it is held under the tongue for 60 – 90 seconds so that the mucus membranes, capillaries and sublingual glands can absorb the oil’s active ingredient, CBD, directly into the bloodstream. This process completely bypasses the digestive system and liver metabolization that occurs when ingested orally. For those looking for quick effects and rapid relief from CBD, sublingual CBD oil is an ideal option.

The Benefits of Basic CBD

Many people have heard about the benefits of CBD but the question of why and how CBD works is all related to the body’s Endocannabinoid System. When CBD is ingested a web of receptors, enzymes and biochemical pathways make up the Endocannabinoid System and the CB1 and CB2 receptors. These receptors influence body functions and processes that regulate pain, appetite, sensation, inflammation, thermoregulation, eye ocular pressure, mood, energy, metabolism, stress response, muscle control, motivation and reward.

Endocannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2 sit on the surface of cells waiting for neurotransmitters to bind to them. Depending on the type of cell, the downstream effect can rapidly impact immunity, sensation, mood and even consciousness. We have CB1 and CB2 receptors throughout the body and different cell types have different receptors.

CB1 receptors are essential for a healthy, functioning brain and are one of the most common receptors found in the entire central nervous system. These receptors can regulate memory, mood, motor function and pain perception. They are also the brain receptors responsible for the psychoactive properties of cannabis and medical marijuana when THC binds to them. Outside of the brain CB1 receptors play a role in hormone production, cardiovascular health, pregnancy and digestion.

CB2 receptors are most often found on immune system cells. These receptors help moderate inflammation and the body’s response to pathogens, toxins and infection. Some users utilize CBD to combat overactive immune system conditions such as asthma, allergies, arthritis and other autoimmune disorders as well as digestive problems such as IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome).

CBD also plays a larger role in the body’s Endocannabinoid System working to influence other types of body receptors while enhancing the natural levels of endocannabinoids produced by the body occupying certain enzymes.

Basic CBD Tinctures are food grade and can be consumed sublingually, orally or topically applied to the skin for fast acting relief. Our tinctures contain no traces of pesticides, solvents, microbes or contaminants in an organic, non-GMO formulation.

CBD Formulations

Basic CBD produces 2 unique formulations including Full Spectrum CBD and THC-Free CBD Isolate based products.

To create a CBD product you must begin with the food grade CO2 hemp extract that is rich in CBD (Cannabidiol). During the extraction process other compounds within the plant are also extracted including the naturally occurring spectrum of cannabinoids, fatty acids, vitamins essential protein, minerals, terpenes and flavonoids. Quality Full Spectrum CBD extract products like Basic CBD Tinctures are high in CBD with the presence of minor cannabinoids and extremely limited amounts of THC (less than 0.3%). Basic CBD also produces Zero THC CBD Tinctures derived from 99% pure CBD Isolate.

Basic CBD Product Types

Basic CBD Tinctures are each available in 500 and 1,000 mg formulations per 30 ml / 1 oz bottle.

Each bottle contains a measured glass dropper with markings at 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 and 1.0 mL (milliliter) for easy serving use and dosage.

Basic CBD Tinctures are manufactured in amber colored, light defense glass that aids in protecting your CBD from damaging light rays.

Full Spectrum extract contains over 100 cannabinoids from the cannabis plant along with major and minor cannabinoids including:

  • CBD (Cannabidiol)
  • THC (Δ9–tetrahydrocannabinol)
  • CBG (Cannabigerol)
  • CBN (Cannabinol)
  • CBGV (Cannabigerivarin)
  • THCV (Tetrahydrocannabivarin)
  • CBDV (Cannabidivarin)
  • CBC (Cannabichromene)
  • CBCV (Cannabichromevarin)
  • CBL (Cannabicyclol)

Full Spectrum extracts contain a wealth of Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Vitamin E along with up to 20 amino acids and essential fatty acids like Omega 3 and Omega 6. Naturally occurring minerals include magnesium, zinc, potassium, calcium, phosphorus and iron. Full Spectrum CBD also has a makeup of the B complex vitamin range that includes thiamine, niacin and riboflavin. The vitamins found in Hemp CBD oil including beta-carotene don’t often exist in adequate levels in the average diet of most Americans. The complete range of 20 amino acids exist which includes the nine essential amino acids recommended for dietary purposes and health benefits. Essential fatty acids Omega 3 and Omega 6 are the primary acids that exist and come with a recommended consumption ratio of 3:1, the same ratio found in full-spectrum hemp CBD extracts.

Once extracted, Full Spectrum whole plant CBD oil can be further refined to extract and isolate single cannabinoids and plant parts such as pure CBD (Cannabidiol) or simply removing THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol). The contents of the refined extract determine if the CBD product is Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum or CBD Isolate based.

At the scientific level an Isolate is defined as the most pure form of a compound that  is produced by singularly extracting the desired compound from its environment thus isolating it from all the other present compounds. What this means is CBD Isolate is the purest form of CBD, a refined powder containing 99.9% pure CBD and no other secondary cannabinoids, terpenes or plant particles. CBD products that are Isolate derived contain only the isolated CBD molecule.

CBD Isolate is a crystalline solid or powder that after extraction and washing results in either large CBD crystals or fine crystalline CBD powder. CBD Isolate does not have a distinct odor or flavor.

Zero THC

While Full Spectrum CBD products contain up to 0.3% THC, true CBD isolate products are absolutely THC free with levels of THC not detected or present with third-party lab testing. When utilizing Full Spectrum CBD you are ingesting THC which can become present on drug tests and drug screens. Although it’s highly unlikely, trace amounts of THC found in hemp-derived CBD oil can possibly cause a positive drug screening result.

3rd Party Tested for Purity & Potency

All batches of Basic CBD have been 3rd Party Lab Tested to verify the cannabinoid contents and potency as well as testing for residual solvents and microbial contaminants like mold or bacteria. We believe in full transparency and users are able to easily find the corresponding test results for their batch on our website.

Your health is our utmost priority.
